Conor - Here we go. Not long now. And its the billionaire Spurs. Still not sure about GS opening team, but it will nevertheless be enough. Will you be posting your thoughts/analysis ? Let us have a great season. Wembley would be nice. Radio Humberside include Boro in list of possible relegation favourites - not a clue !

I agree totally agree Boro are safe this season. I think with southgate now getting rid of players like Mendieta and replacing them with Digard and Emnes means there are exciting times ahead for Boro. Also GS seems to have got in his mind the right squad ready and Boro will without doubt finish above struggling Newcastle and relegation battlers Sunderland and Hull. Digard looks a real top class purchase. I was watching him well and he controlled the midfield and took his goal well.

Conor - Nice clear article. Clearly these buys linked with our good youth policy maturing (Wheater, Johnson, etc, Cats away for £3.5m profit - great) shows Saint SG and GS are investing for the future, not just for a quick fix. We seem to have several more playing options this season. I feel we are in safe hands, dont you ? Boro will finish in the top half and top of the 3 NE clubs (+ Hull = 4) and I am betting on it. Only worries I have are the injury probs with some key players (eg Huth) and the GKpr situation - not meant to be a negative point, but it will test the Club management transfer/selection policy wont it.
